Customs Bond

Customs Guarantee Insurance is a financial instrument provided for under Albanian customs legislation and the secondary regulations of the Customs Administration. It is used to guarantee that economic operators meet their obligations towards the customs authorities.

This guarantee is required in various cases, including simplified customs procedures, customs warehousing, transit, and for entities authorised as customs agencies or economic operators operating under duty-suspension arrangements.

It is also used to cover obligations related to excise duties and the use of excise stamps, ensuring the payment of the relevant taxes and fees in the event that legal and procedural requirements are not met.

In the event of a breach or failure to fulfil obligations, the Customs Authority is entitled to call on the guarantee up to the specified amount, thereby protecting public revenue and ensuring compliance with Albania’s customs legal framework.
