Advance Payment Bond

Advance Payment Guarantee is widely used in public and private contracts, in accordance with Albanian legislation and international contracting practices. It protects the beneficiary against the risk that the advance payment is misused or that the related obligations are not fulfilled, ensuring repayment of the prepaid amount if the contractor fails to perform the contract under the agreed terms.

In terms of its function and legal effect, an advance payment guarantee issued by an insurance company is comparable to a bank guarantee, as it gives the beneficiary the right to claim payment of the guaranteed amount in accordance with the guarantee’s terms. For economic operators, this form of guarantee helps preserve liquidity and bank credit lines, as it does not necessarily require funds to be frozen or bank limits to be used. This supports more efficient financial-resource management and increases their capacity to participate in other projects.
