Description

Kasko Insurance, or Motor Own Damage Insurance, is a voluntary insurance product that compensates the owner of the insured vehicle for material damage caused by accidents, theft, fire, natural events, and other risks specified in the insurance terms and conditions.

Unlike Compulsory Motor Insurance (TPL), which covers damage caused to third parties, Kasko Insurance covers damage to the insured vehicle itself, including accidents caused by the insured vehicle, thereby protecting the vehicle owner’s financial interests.

What is the difference between KASKO Insurance and Compulsory Motor Third-Party Liability Insurance (TPL)? arrow

Compulsory Motor Third-Party Liability Insurance (TPL) covers damage caused by the driver to third parties. KASKO Insurance covers material damage to the insured vehicle itself.

Are minor damages also covered? arrow

Yes. KASKO Insurance also covers minor damage, subject to the terms and deductible specified in the policy.

Do I need to declare in advance the persons who will drive the vehicle? arrow

Yes. For coverage under a KASKO insurance policy, the owner must declare the persons authorized to drive the vehicle and have their names specified in the insurance policy.

In the event of damage, do I have to pay part of the cost? arrow

Depending on the policy terms, a deductible and/or excess may apply.

Can I choose the repair service provider myself? arrow

Yes. The customer may choose to have the vehicle repaired at a service center authorized by INTERSIG or receive financial compensation based on the damage assessment.

What should I do in the event of an accident or damage? arrow

Simply report the incident using INTERSIG’s contact numbers. Our staff will guide you through the required documentation and claims-handling procedure.

Is vehicle theft covered? arrow

Yes. Theft is covered under the Full KASKO plan, subject to the policy terms.

Is damage caused by natural events covered? arrow

Yes. KASKO Insurance covers damage caused by natural events specified in the insurance terms and conditions.

Is KASKO Insurance also valid outside Albania? arrow

Yes. Depending on the selected plan, KASKO Insurance may also provide coverage outside the territory of Albania.

Is the KASKO insurance policy transferred if ownership of the vehicle changes? arrow

No. Like any other voluntary insurance policy, the KASKO insurance policy ceases to be valid if ownership of the insured motor vehicle changes.
