Mining Workers Insurance

Occupational Accident Insurance for Employees of Mining Entities Operating in Albania is a compulsory personal accident insurance policy for employees in the mining sector, which is subject to a high level of operational and occupational risk.

Its main purpose is to ensure employees’ financial protection and enable employers in the mining sector to meet their legal obligations.

This insurance is regulated by occupational health and safety legislation, mining legislation, and the relevant secondary legislation, including Council of Ministers Decisions and Instruction No. 671/2008.

Miners’ Occupational Accident Insurance provides financial protection in the event of a workplace accident, disability, occupational illness, or death, with minimum cover of up to ALL 6,000,000 per employee, in accordance with regulatory requirements and market practice.

This insurance is implemented and supervised within the framework of the requirements of the responsible institutions and the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority (AFSA).
