Intersig was founded in 2001 by a group of local shareholders, who were licensed for non-life insurance in the Republic of Albania.

Vienna Insurance Group AG Wiener Versicherung Gruppe signed an agreement in Tirana on August 24^th 2011 to take a majority stake of Intersig sha. This process increased the company’s equity, quality and staff qualifications. VIG Group currently holds 90% of shares in Intersig VIG. The presence of VIG in Albania is in 2 companies, Intersig VIG and Sigmainteralbanian VIG.

Today INTERSIG VIG is positioned as the second company in the insurance industry market, made up of 10 companies. We are the first in Albania as regards the payment of damages – they take place within 20 working days with excellent service. We are the first in Albania in the payment of damages; they realized within 20 working days with excellent service. In late 2013, Intersig was positioned as the third company in the insurance market. Casco product in 2013 grew by 31.85%; Wealth 255.5%; health and personal accidents with 86.05%.
